While on leave back in Iowa, I called her up and made arrangements for a visit to Mason City. She had dropped out of school and was working in her hometown and living at home with her parents. Molly and I picked up where we left off. We even made a trip back to Churdan to meet my father and Mabel. This was getting serious. Back we went to Mason City where one day I met her brother in a bar and we had a couple beers. For some reason those beers went directly to my head and I was drunk and could not seem to sober up. Her brother took me back to his place and called Molly. She came and got me and was not very happy. She had seen enough drunkeness in her family and was not interested in a relationship with a drunk. It was down hill from there. I often wonder what became of Molly. |

The Brookfield Radar site was similar to that of Hopedale, except it was in the middle of civilization, 4 miles from Sharon, PA, 10 miles from Youngstown, Ohio, and 15 miles from Warren, Ohio. There was an Air Force Base near Warren. |
